Assigning permissions to users and groups

Administration module access is required.
System access can be configured on per user or per security group basis to help you manage your system security efficiently.
This article walks you through the process of assigning permissions directly to users or indirectly through security groups.
1. Assigning permissions
1.1. Permissions to users
Before adding permissions using this method, we recommend checking what permissions are already assigned to the user.
To assign permissions directly:
- Access the Administration module.
- Select Security.
- Choose People.
- Open the user profile.
- Switch to the Permissions tab.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Click Assign Permissions.
- Tick required permissions.
- Click OK.
- Click Save (Tick icon).
1.2. Permissions to groups
Users added to a static security group immediately inherit all permissions assigned to it, so it's important to review them regularly to ensure correct level of access.
To assign permissions to groups:
- Access the Administration module.
- Select Security.
- Choose Groups.
- Open the security group.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Click Assign Permissions.
- Tick required permissions.
- Click OK.
- Click Save (Tick icon).

You can highlight multiple records by holding down Ctrl + Shift. - Move them across using the Arrow button.
