Managing dynamic security groups

Administration module access is required.
System access can be configured on per user or per security group basis to help you manage your system security efficiently.
Dynamic groups automatically assign predetermined permissions to a user depending on their role or relationship to a record. When a user opens a record, they will only see select actions, buttons, and menus. For this to be calculated, they will always need access to the module.
We recommend reviewing all preset dynamic security group when you first configure your system security.
This article shows you where you can view and manage dynamic security groups.
1. Viewing groups
As dynamic security groups are based on relationships to records, you can't create new ones beyond the ones available in the system by default.
To view dynamic security groups:
- Access the Administration module.
- Select Security.
- Choose Groups.
- Look for groups with a tick next to them.

2.1. Editing groups
You can make changes to the group name and description at any time.
To edit a group:
- Select the group from the list.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Make required changes.
- Click Save (Tick icon).
2.2. Deleting groups
To avoid issues with record access and management, there is no option to delete dynamic security groups.

- Look for groups with a question mark next to the icon.

- Make required changes.

To avoid issues with record access and management, there is no option to delete dynamic security groups.
