Getting started with user creation
Who is this article for?
Administrators responsible for creating users within the system.
Administrator permissions are required.
To give users access to your Ideagen Quality Management system, you’ll need to create their user accounts first.
This article shows you how to create users for both native and Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication (whether you're using Mazlan Home (formerly Ideagen Mazlan Home) or not), with links to useful setup resources.
Creation options
There are five options for creating user accounts: some require full manual creation, while others start manually but automate the rest.
Manual creation
This method lets you create individual accounts in the Ideagen Quality Management system. The instructions in the linked article apply to users with native authentication (Ideagen credentials) and those using SSO (for tenants not currently on Mazlan Home).
Automated creation
Mazlan Home sync
If your tenant uses Mazlan Home, user creation is handled there.
When you create a user in Mazlan Home, the same username is automatically created in Ideagen Quality Management. After that, manage user accounts in Mazlan Home (creation, deletion, updates). Try to avoid creating users directly in the application to prevent duplicates and any problems.

Active Directory
You can quickly create multiple user accounts by importing them once from an existing Active Directory (AD) in the Windows client. Regular syncing between AD and the system is not supported.
Excel import
You can easily create multiple user accounts using a premade Excel template from the Windows client. Just make sure the file is properly formatted with all the necessary details to create users and assign permissions.
Just-In-Time provisioning
You can turn on Just-In-Time (JIT) provisioning to automatically create user accounts the first time they log in when Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled.
Note
Just-In-Time provisioning is disabled for tenants using Mazlan Home to avoid potential duplication and sync issues.
