Getting started with Report Designer

Report Designer access is required.
Report Designer is an editing tool designed to create reports containing your Quality Management data that can be printed, sent in an email, or exported to other formats.
This article outlines the basic functionality and lists links to content that will help you get the most of the tool.
1. Configuring report format
Email Designer allows you to tailor how your reports will look when you share them with others in your organisation.
Below is a table outlining the main features available in the builder.
| Feature | Description |
|---|---|
| Label | Simple data label that will hold information pulled from Quality Management fields. Labels are added and then "bound" to a field. |
| Checkbox | Checkbox element that can be bound to boolean fields (e.g. Yes or No values). |
| PictureBox | Box that can hold an image (e.g. a company logo). |
| Panel | Element that can hold labels to create a more aesthetic grouping. |
| Table | Simple table where fields can be added to cells. |
| Line | Line to help change the look and feel of the page. |
| Shape | Simple shape (e.g. circle or square, etc.). |
| Barcode | Barcode image. These do not link to Quality Management records. |
| Page Break | Break so that the printed report will display information over two pages. |
| Date Printed | Date the report was printed on. |
| Page Number | Page number. |
| Page Total | Number of pages in the report. |
1. Configuring report format
Email Designer allows you to tailor how your reports will look when you share them with others in your organisation.
| Feature | Description |

| Field List | List of fields that can be added to a report. Parent/child structure indicates the collection structure that needs to be applied. |
| Standard Controls | Standard objects that can be added to a report. |
| Special Controls | Additional objects that you may wish to apply to enhance the format of your report. |
| View Controls | Allows you to easily navigate between Design, Preview and HTML views. |
| Property Grid | Properties for the report. These are automatically populated by changes made to the report or can be manually edited. |
| Report Explorer | Lists all objects applied to the report and allows easy selection of objects. |
| Detail Band | Part of the report which holds the main details from the database. e.g. the person details on the People module report. |
| Data Collection | Part of the report that will go through a loop to pull multiple results from the database. A report can have multiple collections applied for each section of the record, e.g. all events that a person has carried out or the personal training plan. |
