2. Ideagen Quality Management Licencing
Ideagen Quality Management is based on a concurrent licensing model, meaning that a licence is taken whenever a user connects to the system.
Ideagen Quality Management is available with two separate licence options which are designed to be used in conjunction with each other: Primary licences cater for regular system users and Secondary licences cater for occasional users of the system.
For Ideagen Quality Management system administrators, this provides the flexibility to create individual user accounts with the licence option that is best suited to each user.
Primary Licences
Primary licences are full Ideagen Quality Management user licences and can have access to all areas of the system that have been assigned to them by the Ideagen Quality Management system administrator.
Primary licences offer full access to Ideagen Quality Management, as per security access rights assigned.
Secondary Licences
Secondary licences are Ideagen Quality Management user licences that offer limited access to the system across a restricted range of compliance activities.
Secondary licences provide access to functions that are secondary to the day-to-day operation of Ideagen Quality Management.

3. SQL Licencing
SQL Server is licensed through Microsoft Volume Licensing programs using two different licence models:
- Core-Based licensing
- Server+CAL licensing
For further information on SQL Licencing please visit the Microsoft SQL Licencing Guide.
Core-Based Model
The Core Based model is often used to support a large number of users. It allows you to licence your SQL server based on computing power. With this model any number of users can connect to the server. The number of licences required depend on the number of physical cores and the type of processor on the server. If you are running your server in a virtual environment then it is possible to licence a single virtual machine.
Server+CAL Model
The Server+CAL licence model is purchased for the server and each device/user that needs to connect to the SQL server. A licence allows you to run as many instances of the server as you like. This model is often used when the number of user/devices that require to connect to the server is known and the licensing cost is lower than the core based model.
