Creating an Asset
Who is this article for?Users responsible for managing Asset records.
Asset Create permissions are required.
Assets store important information related to physical or intangible assets, including serial numbers, that are integral to refer to when carrying out quality processes.
This article outlines how to create a new Asset record.
1. Creating an Asset
1.1. New Asset
To create a new Asset:
- Access the Assets module.
- Select Assets.
- Click New Asset.
- Enter the asset Number
- Select the Asset Type.
- Complete optional details as needed.
- Click OK.
1.2. New Based On
You also have the option to create an Asset record based on information stored in an existing record.
To create a prefilled Asset:
- Tick the Asset record to use as a base.
- Click New Based On.
This will open the Confirmation pane.
- Click OK.
You will be taken to the Asset detail page
- Amend information as needed.
- Click Save (Tick icon).

- Select New Asset.
- Enter the asset Number
- Select the Asset Type.

- Click Save.
- Click Save.
1.2. New Based On
You also have the option to create an Asset record based on information stored in an existing record.

- Select New Asset based on....
- Amend information as needed.
- Click Save (Tick icon).
