Managing Activity Types on an Asset

Asset Add, Edit, and Delete Activity Types permissions are required.
Activity Types help in organising and tracking various actions, events, or processes associated with Assets throughout their lifecycle. They provide a structured way to understand, analyse, and manage how Assets are utilised, maintained, and interacted with within the organisation.
This article shows you how to add, edit, or remove Activity Types from your records.
1. Creating an Activity Type
To add an Activity Type:
- Access the Assets module.
- Open an Asset record.
- Switch to the Activity tab.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Click Add Activity Type.
- Enter required information.
- Click OK.
2. Editing an Activity Type
To modify an Activity Type:
- Find the Activity Type.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Open the Actions (Arrow icon) menu.
- Click Edit Activity Type.
- Make the required changes.
- Click OK.
3. Deleting an Activity Type
To remove an Activity Type:
- Find the Activity Type.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Open the Actions (Arrow icon) menu.
- Click Delete Activity Type.
Removing an Activity Type with assigned Activities?
Deleting an Activity Type will remove all Activities of that Type within the record. This cannot be undone.

- Click Actions.
- Choose Add Activity Type.
- Select the Activity Type from the dropdown.
- Click OK.
- Expand the Activity Type section.
- Update the information.
- Click Save.
2. Editing an Activity Type
To modify an Activity Type:
- Open the Asset record.
- Expand the Activity Type section.
- Right-click anywhere in the section.
- Select Edit Activity Type.
- Make the required changes.
- Click OK.
3. Deleting an Activity Type
To remove an Activity Type:
- Open the Asset record.
- Expand the Activity Type section.
- Right-click anywhere in the section.
- Select Delete Activity Type.
