How to Install the Audit Log Database

The Audit Log is an option feature which must be purchased. This feature will provide traceability on all changes made within the Ideagen Quality Management system by saving the details of every change in a separate database.
This article outlines the steps to install the Ideagen Quality Management Audit Log Database.
This article is split into the following sections:
Important Note: Audit Log is an additional feature that must be purchased. If you have not purchased the Audit Log but continue to install it then your Ideagen Quality Management system will not connect.
1. Install the Audit Log
- Browse to the Audit Log installation folder and run the setup.exe.
- Review and accept the License Agreement, then click Next.
- Enter the name or the IP address of the Database Server that will host the Ideagen Quality Management database (including the instance name) and then select your connection method.
- Click Next.
- Enter a strong password for the application user.
- Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.
Notes:
- The application user is a SQL user account that is used by the application service to communicate with the database. This user cannot be used to log in to the Ideagen Quality Management client.
- This password MUST be strong, Microsoft guidelines for strong passwords can be found on the Microsoft website. This password will be validated against these rules on pressing ‘Next’.
