Launching Client that displays "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft verified app." error
Who is this article for?Users launching Quality Management (Professional).
Access to your PC directories is required.
If your IT team have restricted what applications can run to be only those verified by Microsoft then the client may not launch or you may also see the warning "The app you're trying to install isn't a Microsoft-verified app".
This article outlines the steps required to unlock Quality Management installed via ClickOnce so that it launches as normal.
2. Unblock the Client
To unblock the application:
- Enable option to view hidden files.
- Browse to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Apps\2.0.
- Open the unique folder.
It will likely contain another folder inside you will need to access.
- Open the most recent Quality Management (Professional) directory.
It will have its own unique name, such as q-pu...app_1f452d50ee01314c_0007.0001_c9648607d9f7c523. - Right-click the Quality Management.exe file.
- Select Properties.
- Tick Unblock.
- Click Apply.
You should now be able to launch the application as normal!
Need to install updates?
If your organisation has configured this level of security, you will experience this issue with every update applied through ClickOnce.
You may need to consider switching to deploying the Client using Group Policy (GPO).
