FAQs
What is changing?
This update includes features and bug fixes. The full outline can be found at Ideagen Quality Management Cloud 8.7.1 Release Notes.
Where can I find the release notes for this version of the software?
These can found at Ideagen Quality Management Cloud 8.7.1 Release Notes.
As this is a validated release, it will also incorporate the updates from releases
8.3.1, 8.4.4, 8.4.5 and 8.6.1 so you are advised to review these release notes as well as those for version 8.7.1.
What if the date I’ve been offered for my UAT or Live upgrade isn’t convenient?
As your upgrade will cause little or no disruption we don’t anticipate it causing you any inconvenience. Our upgrade schedule is tightly planned to ensure we can meet the roll out dates provided to each and every customer and can only consider an alternative date in the most exceptional circumstances. If you have such a situation, please contact your Account Manager or Customer Success Agent. We will endeavour to accommodate your requirements but cannot guarantee we’ll be able to do so.
Will my QPC system be unavailable whilst the upgrade is carried out?
The upgrade will take place during a one hour maintenance window, between 8am and 4pm on the date provided to you. You will be able to use your QPC system during this time, but you may experience an outage or downtime during your one hour maintenance window. We’d therefore recommend you don’t plan any significant system activity on this date. Unfortunately we’re unable to give individual customers exact timings for the one hour window which will affect their account.
Why do you allow 8 weeks between the upgrades on my UAT and Live environments?
We know that every customer will have different time constraints and resource availability and want to ensure you have sufficient time to complete your validation activities and review any functionality enhancements and improvements prior to your Live environment being upgraded. We anticipate the validation activities can be completed very quickly but want to ensure you have time to do so at your convenience. This will also give you the opportunity to review the functionality enhancements and prepare your teams for any changes.
If I’ve completed my validation activities and am ready to roll out the upgrade, can my Live upgrade be brought forward?
As our upgrade schedule is tightly planned to ensure we can meet the roll out dates provided to each and every customer, we cannot guarantee we’ll be able to accommodate this. However, if there is an exceptional circumstance that you would like us to give consideration to, please contact your Account Manager or Customer Success Agent.
I previously purchased Compliance Path services for my PQ system validation. Can I arrange for Compliance Path to undertake this for the upgrade?
We anticipate there will be limited activities and resource requirement for this upgrade and you should be able to undertake these yourself. However, if you would like to discuss utilising services from Compliance Path to complete this, please speak to your Account Manager.
Will this upgrade require any retraining for my users?
The new version contains several key updates such as:
- New document drafting capabilities
- Edit attachments while approval workflow in progress
- Improved workflow tasks, access more information directly
- Assets & Interested Parties can now be added to Audit scope
You’ll have opportunity to review these in you UAT environment in the period before your Live environment is upgraded and ensure your teams are prepared for any changes that impact your business and how you utilise QPC.
