Unlocking user accounts

Administration module access is required.
User lockout is a security feature that prevents users from attempting to sign in if their login credentials have been entered incorrectly a specified number of times.
This article shows you where to view locked user accounts and how to restore their access.
1. Finding a locked user
To view locked out users:
- Open the Administration module.
- Select Security.
- Choose People.
Any users whose accounts have been locked will have their Licence listed as Disabled. In the Windows Client, they will also have an Alert icon listed next to their name.
2. Restoring a locked user
To unlock a user:
- Open the user record.
- Click Edit (Pencil icon).
- Tick Enable login?.
This will unlock the user account. - Force a password update with Set/Reset....
- Click Save (Tick icon).
As the system does not automatically notify the user that they need to set a new password, we recommend contacting them directly.

2. Restoring a locked user
To unlock a user:
- Double-click the user record.
- Tick Enable login?.
This will unlock the user account. - Force a password update with Set/Reset....
- Click Apply.
As the system does not automatically notify the user that they need to set a new password, we recommend contacting them directly.
