CA/PA Analysis Module - Creating a Data Set for Analysis
To create a data set:
-
Set the Analysis Range
-
Set the Analysis Scope
-
Choose a Show By value
Setting the Analysis Range
To set the Analysis Range:
-
In the Analysis Range tile, choose whether to base the date range on Closed or Raised Date
-
Choose a period (this defaults to 'Any', i.e. all)
-
Click the [APPLY] button
For example, choosing Raised Date and then 'This Month' can be interpreted as "Analyse Non-Conformance records raised during this month." Choosing 'Closed Date' and then 'Last Year' can be interpreted as "Analyse Non-Conformance records closed during last year."
Choosing the Type of Analysis to perform: Review or Reaction Time
Two basic types of review may be performed:
-
Review – where profiling CA/PA content is the focus of this type of analysis, one or two 'Analyse by' dimensions may be selected
-
Reaction Time– where performance of CA/PA (Stage and overall) closure is the focus. Only one 'Analyse by' dimension may be selected, the other dimension is generated by the system depending on the metric chosen
To perform a Review Analysis:
-
In the Analysis Scope section, select 'Review'
-
Choose the Analyse by dimension values (see Choosing the basic Data to include (the Analyse By dimensions below)
-
Click the [APPLY] button.
To perform a Reaction Time Analysis:
-
In the Analysis Scope section, select 'Reaction Time'
-
Choose a single "Analyse by" dimension value
-
Choose the specific reaction time metric
-
Click the [APPLY] button.
Choosing the basic Data to include (the 'Analyse By' dimensions)
Up to two basic data fields may be selected to Analyse By, and these will populate the grid dimensions, i.e. the columns and rows of the grid. The data shown may be further refined by filtering or drilling. Field selection differs depending on the type of review chosen.
To choose the fields to Analyse By when performing a 'Review' Analysis:
-
Select the first data field by choosing from the list of available 'Analyse By' fields (this will become the row value)
-
Then select the second data field by choosing from the list of available fields. If a second field is not required choose '<Not Selected>' (if a value is chosen this will become the column value)
To choose the fields to Analyse By when performing a 'Reaction Time' Analysis:
-
Select the data field to analyse (only one may be chosen) by choosing from the list of available Analyse By fields
-
Then select the metric to use by choosing it from the list (a metric must be selected).
-
If 'Stage - Actual vs Target' is selected then a specific Stage must also be specified
-
If 'Overall Duration' is selected then a grouping value must also be specified
The way the data is presented depends on the metric selected:
-
If Overall - Actual vs Target or Stage - Actual vs Target is selected, then the selected Data Field will become the row value and the calculated metric results will be the column value
-
If 'Overall Duration' is selected, then the occurrences of the selected data field that fall within the specified duration groupings are displayed as the column values, the groupings as rows
Refining the Data Set using additional (advanced) filters
To apply additional filters to the data set:
-
From the main menu, select [ACTIONS], then [ADVANCED SEARCH]
-
Specify the required filter criteria and apply
Setting the Show By value (summary)
This determines the summary value displayed in the grid. It can only be set for Review Analysis. To set this value:
-
From the Summary toolbar, select the value required, a selection may be made from the following:
-
Occurrences: The number of Non-Conformance's
-
Total Cost: Based on the values entered in CA/PA Properties Total Cost field
-
Total Time: Based on the values entered in CA/PA Properties Total Time field
-
Time fields 1-5: Based on the values entered in CA/PA Properties Custom Time fields. NB Field names will reflect any label customisation in this area Cost 1-5: Based on the values entered in CA/PA Properties Custom Cost fields. NB Field names will reflect any label customisation in this area
-
Selecting any Cost allows you to select how you would like to view the data. You can choose from Total, Average, Minimum or Maximum.

Loading an Analysis Folder
To load an Analysis folder:
-
Double-click on a folder in the My Analysis Folders tile
This includes filters, view, analysis table definitions, graph options and overlays saved with that search folder. The same window will be re-used, discarding the current analysis session.
