Using the Document Retrieval Service (DRS)

Users accessing Documents using the DRS tool.
DRS access is required.
Document Retrieval Service (DRS) is a free optional add-on that can be installed on your server in order to gain immediate access to your document attachments.
This article focuses on how to use the tool.
1. Launching the DRS
As the Document Retrieval Service is an optional add-on, it must be installed on a server to be accessed.
To launch the DRS:
1. Open a web browser.
2. Navigate to below URLs
For modernised customers, the URL will be https://gnumber.iqmp.ideagen.com/qpulsedocumentservice
For non-modernised customers, the URL will be https://gnumber.ideagenqpulse.com/qpulsedocumentservice.
Please ensure that you replace gnumber with your organisation's G-number.
This applies solely to Ideagen-hosted customers. For self-hosted customers, their internal IT team should be able to provide the appropriate URL.
3. Press Enter.
By default you will be required to enter a username and password to access the DRS.
2. Searching for a Document
To search for a document:
- Launch the DRS.
- If configured, enter your username and password.
- In the Criteria section, select the document status and enter your search parameters.
- Click [Search].
- Click on one of the links to launch the document.
If you have multiple attachments stored against a Document record and no index file set (i.e. default attachment), you will be shown a list of all the attachments (fig. 2) to choose from. If an index file is set, that file will be opened automatically regardless of how many other attachments exist for that document.
3. Searching for a revision
To search for a specific revision:
- Launch the DRS.
- If configured, enter your username and password
- In the Locate a particular document revision section, enter the document number and revision number.
- Click [Locate Revision]
- Click on one of the links to launch the document
4. Creating a hyperlink
To hyperlink to a Document:
- Launch the DRS.
- If configured, enter your username and password.
- Search for your document.
- Right click on the document links and select [Copy Shortcut].
- Open the document you want to link from and paste the hyperlink.
