Configuring custom fields
Who is this article for?Administrators responsible for managing system fields.
Administration module access is required.
Most modules have a series of user-defined fields that can be used for additional data to support your operations.
This article shows you how to customise these to tailor the system to your needs.
1. Customising fields
To edit custom fields:
- Open the Administration module.
- Select Customisation.
- Choose Custom Fields.
- Filter to display the Module you need.
This step isn't required, but it helps navigate the large list!
- Click Edit to the left of the field name.
This will open a Customize pane. - Enter the new label.
- Click OK.
The list will refresh, and your updated field name should appear in the list.
2. Entering data into custom fields
To enter data in the custom fields:
- Access a record in the appropriate module.
- Click Edit.
- Scroll down to the Additional Fields section.
- Enter information as required.
- Click Save (Tick icon).

- Double-click the field you want to edit.
- Enter the new label.
- Click OK.
2. Entering data into Custom Fields
To enter data in the Custom Fields:
- Access a record in the appropriate module.
- Scroll down to Properties.
- Click Edit.
- Switch to the Additional Fields section.
- Enter information as required.
- Click OK.

3. Available Custom Fields
The following table contain a list of Custom Fields available in each module, along with the data types that the field accepts (it is not possible to change the data type associated with a user-defined field).

Needing more fields for CA/PA module?
Occurrences module allows you to build your own custom forms with an infinite number of fields possible.
If you need more fields for reporting and investigation purposes, Occurrences may be a better fit. Contact your account manager for more information.
