Configuring Conditional Formatting on Ideagen Quality Management Reports
There are two main ways to apply conditional formatting within Report Designer:
Applying Conditional Formatting Against an Individual Field
- Open any Ideagen Quality Management module.
- Click [File], then [Report Designer].
- Select the report you wish to edit in Report Designer.
- Click the [Design] button.
- Navigate to the field list and hover over the field you wish to compare
At this point a tooltip will appear, this will display the data member for that field:
- Within the Design View (the main central pane of the Report Designer window), click on the field that you are wanting to apply the conditional formatting to.
- Click the [>] icon to expand the cell tasks.
- Click on the Formatting Rules [...] button.
- Click the [Edit Rule Sheet...] button.
This will display the "Formatting Rule Sheet Editor" window
- Click the [+] button to add an additional formatting rule.
- In the Formatting Property Grid, click on the field next to the Condition label and click on [...]
This will open the "Condition Editor" window.
- Enter into the criteria pane the DataMember value that that was noted in step 5, followed by the function and then the comparison value. For example:
SeverityName > '3'
- Click [OK].
- Using the formatting properties pane, configure the formatting rules you wish to apply (e.g. background colour, font colour, etc) and then name your formatting rule.
- Click [Close].
- Add the rule to the "Applied Rules" column and click [OK].
Applying Conditional Formatting Against a Report Band
- Open any Ideagen Quality Management module.
- Click [File], then [Report Designer].
- Select the report you wish to edit in Report Designer.
- Click the [Design] button.
- Navigate to the field list and hover over the field you wish to compare.

- Within the Design View (the main central pane of the Report Designer window), click on the band that you are wanting to apply the conditional formatting to.
- Click the [>] icon to expand the cell tasks.
- Click on the Formatting Rules [...] button.
- Click the [Edit Rule Sheet...] button
This will display the "Formatting Rule Sheet Editor" window.
- Click the [+] button to add an additional formatting rule.
- In the Formatting Property Grid, click on the field next to the Condition label and click on [...]
