Difference Between My Folders And My Searches Folder
Who is this article for?Ideagen Quality Management administrators responsible for managing Ideagen Quality Management.
IT access will be required to implement this update.
Ideagen Quality Management includes two methods of saving searches and groups of records. These are:
- My Searches
- My Folders
Both operate very differently. My Searches is a saved query which is executed every time you double click on the saved search. My Folders is similar to a Windows folder as records are added to the folder and double clicking on the folder will display the list of records.
Both can be managed individually as a user or shared with other users.
1. My Searches
Performing advanced searches within Ideagen Quality Management modules can get quite complex. Ideagen Quality Management allows you to name and save these searches for future re-use and to share with other users.
To save a search:
- Perform a search.
- Click on the advanced link and click the save icon.
- Give your Search a Name, a Folder Category and a Comment.
2. My Folders
My Folders allows users to make use of virtual directories to store similar records together. These can be shared with other users.
To create a folder:
- In the task pane within a Ideagen Quality Management module, click on My Folders.
- Right click inside the task pane and select New Folder.... The Add Folder window will appear
- Give your Search a name, a Folder Category and a Comment.
- You can then drag and drop records from the list view into your newly created folder.
