Managing Report Designer reports
Who is this article for?
Administrators responsible for housekeeping of reports created in Report Designer.
Administration module and Report Management access is required.
Reports are managed within the application and stored in the database, not as files in the Windows folder. Therefore, use Report Management rather than the file system.
This article shows you how you can rename or delete reports created in Report Designer.
1. Renaming a report
To rename a report:
- Open Administration.
- Go to Customisation.
- Select Report Management.
- Find the report.
- Select the report in the list.
- Click Edit.
Alternatively, you can double-click the report to open it. - Update the report Name.
- Click Save.
If you can't find the report you're looking for, make sure you've selected the correct Module and View filters before you apply them.
If you can't see the updated name, refresh the client and make sure the view matches where you’re printing from as some locations may be restricted by configuration.
2. Deleting a report
To delete a report:
- Open Administration.
- Go to Customisation.
- Select Report Management.
- Find the report.
- Right-click the report name.
- Select Detele.
- Confirm action in the pop up.
If you can't find the report you're looking for, make sure you've selected the correct Module and View filters before you apply them.
3. Copying a report
If you prefer to keep the original report, you can publish a new name as a separate copy.
To copy a report:
- Open the report in Report Designer.
- Click File.
- Select Export....
- Export it as a .repx file.
- Click File.
- Select Import....
- Select the previously exported file.
- Import it as a .repx file.
- Give it an updated name.
- Varify that it appears under the correct Module/View.
4. Verifying changes
To verify that the changes you've made:
- Open the functional area (e.g., Occurrence, Audit, CA/PA).
- Use Print/Preview to confirm the renamed or new report is selectable.
- Run a quick preview to ensure the layout and data bindings are intact.
