This article provides the backup and disaster recovery schedule for Ideagen Quality Management Professional databases in our hosted (SaaS) environment.
1. Hosted backup and recovery schedule
To ensure data integrity and provide robust disaster recovery capabilities, our Cloud Operations Team manages all backups for hosted Q-Pulse databases. Backups are performed at different intervals and stored in separate locations to ensure high availability.
The following table details the backup policy:
| Type | Backup Location | Frequency | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|
| Full database backup | EBS volume attached to EC2 instance | Every 24 hours | 7 days |
| Transaction Log backup | EBS volume attached to EC2 instance | Every 1 hour | 7 days |
| Disaster Recovery backup | Amazon S3 | Every 1 hour | 7 days |
Note: Our hosted environments (version 7.7.1.0 and later) have been upgraded to enhance security and reliability. This includes migrating to PostgreSQL databases and moving attachment storage from the embedded database to encrypted AWS S3 buckets. This infrastructure provides simplified backup and disaster recovery, high durability, and enhanced security.
