Who is this article for?
Users preforming bulk edit
System Admin permissions are required for steps.
When you export user data using the Bulk Edit feature, the exported Excel file (UserData.xls) may have worksheet protection enabled. This is intended to maintain data integrity during re-import. However, if you need to sort or edit all columns for reporting purposes, you may need to remove this protection.
1. Removing protection
- Open the exported
UserData.xlsfile in Microsoft Excel. - If prompted for a password when removing protection:
-
Enter the default password:
password
-
- If the default password does not work:
- Check if your organization has applied additional Excel protection policies.
- Contact your IT team to confirm if local security settings are enforcing extra protection.
Note: Removing protection is only recommended for reporting or analysis purposes. If you plan to re-import the file into IQM Professional, ensure that the structure and required columns remain unchanged. Incorrect modifications can cause import errors.
