Ideagen Quality Management 7.8.1.1 is a minor product update that introduces several performance improvements for the client.

1. Features

Connection management improvements

This version includes several improvements to help mitigate database connection leaks.

Asset module: Enhanced tree list component to lookup list

The dropdown tree list component has been replaced with a lookup list, improvement in faster load times and reduced memory usage. This applies to the following fields in Asset module:

• Asset Type
• Location
• Create Activity Type’s Supplier
• Edit Activity’s Supplier
• Edit Activity’s Standard Item

This feature is off by default and can be enabled in the Web config file.

Asset module: Enhanced Activity Type component

The Activity Type component in the Asset module has been updated to align with the design of the Incident module workflow. It now uses the same component as the Incident and CA/PA workflow, replacing the existing Activity Type component.

Documents module: Improved document draft saving

A master save of the record is now created when a document is submitted for draft approval while in edit mode. The document record remains in edit mode after the master save, preventing intermittent issues when exporting PDF attachments.

Training module: Improved renewable course creation

When creating a new training course under the Attendees/Evaluation tab, the Renewable option now works as expected.

Register list view: Search optimisation by visible columns

In version 7.7, an optimisation was introduced to improve keyword search performance by limiting the search to visible columns only in register list views. At that time, the feature was disabled by default.

Starting from this version, the feature is now enabled by default, ensuring that you can benefit from the improved performance.

AWS: AWS S3 connectivity improvements (US)

Improved AWS S3 client integration to ensure stable and reliable connectivity for file upload and download operations across all US regions (us-east-1, us-east-2, us-west-1, us-west-2).

This enhancement addresses previous issues with connection failures and timeouts by ensuring proper handling of region-specific endpoints.

PostgreSQL: Driver update

As part of ongoing maintenance and performance optimisation efforts, the PostgreSQL database driver used in the application has been updated to latest compatible version (8.0.7).

Disabled default database creation

The existing feature to automatically create the default database via the IQMP (Bacchus Server) installer has been disabled to support more controlled deployment scenarios.
