Fixing truncated field labels in the Windows client

This article shows you how you can resolve issues with truncated field labels.
1. Issue
In the Desktop client, some field labels in the Additional Fields section may not display fully. For example, “PREVENTATIVE ACTION only?” might appear as “preventative action only?”, causing confusion.
This issue does not occur in the Web client, where labels display correctly. Resizing the window only enlarges entry fields, not the label area.
2. Solution
The truncation happens because the Windows client has a fixed display space for field labels. Labels longer than this space get cut off.
To fix this:
- Go to:
Administration > Customisation > Customer Field. - Find the field (e.g., User Defined 1).
- Edit the label to under 20 characters.
- Save your changes.
This makes sure the label fits and shows properly on the Windows client.
