PingOne authentication to support PKCE flow
Changes previously made for an individual customer are included in this release. Ideagen Quality Management has updated to support the authorisation code flow with PingOne. This removes the reliance on the implicit/hybrid flow, which is prohibited in the customer’s environment, ensuring users can continue to authenticate securely via Single Sign-On (SSO).
The implementation applies to:
- Windows client
- Web client
- Web reporting portal
- Document Retrieval Service
- Audit log viewer
- Webservice/Offline audit server
Enhanced user awareness and automatic recycle
When administrators modify the SSO Client ID in Account Defaults (Windows client) or Account Template Detail View (Web client), the changes are saved to SSOSettings.xml. However, Web client and Web reporting applications cache these settings, and some cached authentication states may not refresh properly without an IIS app pool recycle.
SSO warning label
A new warning message has been added to inform users about the impact of disabling SSO settings: "Warning: Disabling SSO will clear all configured values below."
All configured values will be cleared except for the native login & JIT provisioning checkboxes,
In the Windows client, the warning label is always visible in the configuration interface.
In the Web client, the warning label displays only when the form is in Edit mode and if SSO is enabled.
Confirmation prompt for Client ID changes
A confirmation dialog now appears when users edit the Client ID field in SSO settings (both Windows client and Web client). The dialog informs users that changing the Client ID will automatically trigger an IIS app pool recycle for Web client and Web reporting.
Users can confirm to proceed or cancel to revert the change.
Automatic app pool recycle
IIS app pool recycle now triggers automatically when:
- SSO is enabled with new configuration
- Client ID value is modified
No manual IIS restart required after changing Client ID.
Selective recycle behavior
App pool recycle does not trigger when:
- Disabling SSO with existing SSO details
- Modifying other SSO settings (excluding Client ID)
User experience during recycle
Active users will be logged out as the recycle process restarts the application.
If a user logs in just as the recycle is starting (before the session ends), they will not be able to perform any actions. Once the recycle completes, they will be logged out of the application.
Document module
File content search for Postgres
From this version onwards, the Document module file content search functionality is available for PostgreSQL databases in both Windows and Web clients, with support for AWS S3.
This feature allows users to search for document records based on the actual text content within file attachments.

3. Known issues
Workload e-signature for PingOne SSO
The system recently updated how authentication works when using PingOne Single Sign-On (SSO).
Specifically, the update changed the authorisation code flow — the secure method recommended for modern OAuth/OIDC authentication.
This was done for organisations that prohibited implicit or hybrid OAuth flows, which are now considered less secure by industry standards.
The workload e-signature component is still using the older method (implicit/hybrid). Because of that, it doesn’t support the new security changes yet.
This means:
- If your system uses this component with PingOne SSO, it may not work properly until updated.
- A fix is planned in an upcoming release.
