Ideagen Quality Management 7.9 is a solution update that includes several feature enhancements and fixes, primarily focusing on supporting your transition to the Web experience.
1. Features
Workload
Enhanced Web experience on Workload
This version introduces the Workload Quick Action revamp as part of the UI modernisation effort to align with Helix Design System, Ideagen own branding.
Previously, users had to go through a lot of steps to complete a workload action. With the new Quick Action panel, this process is reduced to just 3 clicks, resulting in a faster, smoother, and interactive user experience.
New web services layer on Workload
As part of our ongoing modernisation initiative, we have enhanced the Bacchus API to serve as the primary integration layer between our database and the new React based Workload UI.
This release marks the first phase of replacing the legacy web services layer providing a robust and scalable foundation for the new React UI.
Integrations
Ideagen Hub integration (Phase 1)
This release introduces integration with Ideagen Hub, delivering three key capabilities:
- Authentication through AWS Cognito - Replaces Ideagen Quality Management's native authentication with AWS Cognito, enabling support for Single Sign-on (SSO) through federated identity providers. Both provider configurations and user accounts must be set up in Ideagen Hub to access Ideagen Quality Management.
- User synchronisation between platforms - Centralises user provisioning in Ideagen Hub with automatic synchronisation to Ideagen Quality Management.
- Cascade logout across active sessions - Terminates all active AWS Cognito sessions in Ideagen Quality Management’s web and windows client when users log out from any connected application.
The integration can be enabled or disabled through configuration settings. Once enabled:
- User management - All user accounts must be created in Ideagen Hub and will automatically synchronise to Ideagen Quality Management. Users synchronised from Ideagen Hub are initially created with secondary license and default groups assigned. Administrators must enable login access and assign appropriate licenses and permissions under Administration > Security > People before users can access Ideagen Quality Management. Password management is handled in Ideagen Hub through AWS Cognito.
- Navigation - Users can navigate between Ideagen Quality Management and Ideagen Hub via the home bar, and access Ideagen Quality Management through Ideagen Hub's My Apps section.
- User information requirements - All usernames must be valid email addresses, and email addresses are mandatory in Ideagen Hub to support AWS Cognito authentication.
- User creation - User creation, editing and bulk edit is disabled in Ideagen Quality Management's web client, windows client, and web services for accounts with login enabled including import feature. In this phase, all user provisioning occurs in Ideagen Hub. Academy users can no longer be created directly from Ideagen Quality Management, though existing linkage of users between Ideagen Quality Management and Academy are preserved.
- Existing users - Users with existing Ideagen Quality Management accounts will automatically transition to the new AWS Cognito authentication flow when logging in.
- Cascade logout - When users log out from Ideagen Quality Management web client, Ideagen Hub or other connected applications, all active AWS Cognito sessions are terminated across. This ensures users are logged out from all platforms for enhanced security.
- Login interface update - 'Login with SSO' button renamed to 'Login' on the sign in page across the Web Client, Web Reporting, and Document Retrieval Service (DRS).
This release lays the technical groundwork for Ideagen Hub integration capabilities, with customer enablement and rollout planned from February 2026.
Ideagen Academy integration
Web client now supports integration with Ideagen Academy, enabling seamless access to e-learning resources on Ideagen Academy and syncing of completed courses in Ideagen Quality Management.
Once enabled:
- Navigation - Users can access Ideagen Academy through the navigation panel.
- Academy events sync - System will now synchronise completed Academy courses with user training records in Ideagen Quality Management.
Single Sign-On (SSO)
Enhanced concurrent SSO authentication
Version 7.8 introduced the ability to use multiple Single Sign-On (SSO) providers across different databases, allowing each database to authenticate users through a different provider.
Version 7.9 improves this functionality to ensure reliable login experiences when multiple users access the system simultaneously. Users can now log in to different databases using different SSO providers at the same time without experiencing conflicts or failures.
Support for multi-tenant SSO
This version adds support for multiple SSO providers per database, enabling organisations with different business units or divisions to authenticate users through their respective identity providers while accessing the same Ideagen Quality Management database.
Existing configurations of single SSO provider per database will continue to work without modifications. Each provider maintains independent configuration.
There are no breaking changes for existing integrations.
All authentication interfaces (Web client, Windows client, Web Reporting Portal, Audit Log Viewer, DRS, Mobile app) now support SSO provider selection.
APIs have been enhanced to support multiple SSO providers per databases.
Technical
Web Services and Offline Audit Services authentication compatibility
This enhancement modifies the AuthenticationSSO endpoint for both Web Services and Offline Audit Services to support authentication using ID tokens issued by AWS Cognito through Ideagen Hub integration.
This ensures web services authentication aligns with the new Hub-based authentication architecture introduced in v7.9.
Converting database from sub-domain to URL string
This version introduces a significant infrastructure enhancement to the URL structure for database access.
This change modernises how databases are identified in the system URL and provides the foundation for improved SSO integration capabilities.

Web client has been updated to incorporate Ideagen's refreshed brand identity:
- Ideagen icon updated across the web client interface
- Visual branding aligned with corporate identity standards

3. Known issues
Windows Client auto filter for Postgres DB
There is a known issue in Winclient Auto Filter feature for Postgres DB where it is case sensitive.
This will be fixed in future release.
Enhanced Document Type filter not showing
The enhanced Document Type filter introduced in v7.8.0.1, which displays document types in a hierarchical tree structure showing parent-child relationships, does not appear in the Document Register view.
The existing Document Type filter with a flat structure remains available in Advanced Search and is unaffected by this issue. The tree view filter will be made available in the Document Register view in a future release.
Email deep link login issues
When users click a deep link from an email notification (linking to a specific record in the system), the login page opens with the appropriate database pre-selected and the database dropdown disabled.
However, if the user clicks "Login with SSO" without selecting an SSO option, the validation warning causes the page to reload with the database dropdown re-enabled and the pre-selected database cleared.
